City parks of Jo'burg (II)

Today was again a nice sunny winter day. This means warm in the sun (you can easily stay in t-shirts), but as soon as the sun is shadowed, it gets very cold.
So, I went to yet another of Jo'burg city parks, this time the "Zoo Lake Park".
As its name suggests, it's a Park, close to the Zoo, and it has a Lake.
The history of the Zoo and the Zoo Lake park is interesting. Apparently, it was "given" to the city (not sure by who) under the condition that it stay open to everybody - meaning with no race distinction. This was in early 20th century, I think, so, before apartheid, but already at a time when Blacks and Whites were not really living together in South Africa. So, it can be considered as one of the earliest multiracial places in South Africa.

Here are some pictures. Pay attention to the color of the sky: the forecast was "partially cloudy" ! :-D
