June 26th: Ayvalik
After leaving Bergama in the afternoon, we arrive in Ayvalik exhausted (we walked a lot), sweating (the temperature is much, much, much higher than in South Africa !!!),
hungry. All we wanted was to go swimming in the sea !
So be it ...

After a quick swim in the sea. |
We swam until sunset, and then we went back to the hotel because it started to be cold !
The hotel was again very nice, with a view on the sea.

But the really good thing about this place, is that we met Evren, Ceren and her parents in a fish restaurant ! The food was amazing and the glasses always full of Raki ! And it is always a pleasure to see our friends !

Not sure what this face was for ... maybe someone stole my food ? |
After the dinner, we had a short walk in the village, in which all we found was a scary old church ...

Church. Night visits are not advised. |
And then back to the hotel for a short night: the next morning we left towards the south, heading to Efes (Ephesus) and ... more ruins !
