Summer post

Since I'm not afraid of contrasts, I will jump from last week's ski photos, to a summer post, live from Johannesburg !
I'm back in Joburg for a few weeks, until end of April. I'll be busy with teaching and the usual work, but I'm sure I'll have a great time here, as every time I come.
Yesterday we went with some colleagues to the Rhino and Lion park, located in the Craddle of Humankind (north of Joburg). It's not the same park as the Lion park where I'd been already, but the principle is the same (and there are Rhinos ;-) )

Here are some pictures.

The park, only 30 minutes from Joburg, which seems incredible on this photo !

So, the park was nice. Like the Lion park, it's somewhere half-way between a zoo and a game reserve: the animals have some large areas, not cages, but still not completely free, and they are fed. Also, there were some tigers, which obviously are not local animals !
But it's a good option for a one-day (or even half-day) trip from Joburg : less far than Pilanesberg, for example, but less "natural" also.

After the park, we went to have an early dinner at the Carnivore restaurant, where we could eat, among others, crocodile, zebra, kudu, gemsbok, impala ...

A nice sunny saturday in good company !
Today is laundry day, and also I have some work to do, so I'll spend the afternoon in the garden ;-)
